SNCR Weekend 2008 - Portsmouth Area.
The event was organised by Barry Paine and held over the weekend 25 - 27 July. The programme included a scenic drive from Petersfield, over Harting Hill, venue for Hill Climbing trials in the '30s, to the Roman Palace at Fishbourne, followed by a stroll around Bosham, where King Canute is reputed to have ordered the tide to stop coming in, then on to Emsworth for a trip around Chichester harbour.
On Saturday we went to Portsmouth Dockyard to 'Meet the Navy', and in the evening had our club dinner at the Bat and Ball in Hambledon, ' the home of the game of cricket'.
On Sunday 22 Singers gathered at Fort Nelson in glorious sunshine, making a splendid display among the ancient guns of the Royal Armouries Museum collection.
